This is the first five minutes of Diane Paragus and Nelson George's feature documentary:
"Brooklyn Boheme gives a first hand account of this vibrant African American artistic community that included the great Spike Lee, Chris Rock, Branford Marsalis, Rosie Perez, Saul Williams, Lorna Simpson just to name a few. Narrated and written by Fort Greene resident Nelson George, this documentary celebrates "Brooklyn's equivalent of the Harlem Renaissance" and follows the rise of a new kind of African American artist, the Brooklyn Boheme."
Brooklyn Boheme was selected as the opening night selection for the 2011 Urbanworld Festival which runs September 14-18th in NYC at AMC 34th Street in Midtown Manhattan. For tickets visit http://www.urbanworld.com/.
