Congrats to the Boston Celtics!!!!

That was one hell of a game and one hell of a season. I haven't witnessed anything so magical in sports, since my Sixers made the Finals in 2001. Last night was PERFECT, like the ending of a good movie. I am so happy for KG, Paul Pierce, Ray Allen, Doc Rivers, and PJ Brown. Damn, Eddie House is a NBA Champion and Scot Pollard. How many teams have these guys been on? LOL. Rajon Rondo was killin it last night. It was absolutely wonderful. Like I said PERFECT. If anybody remembers KG's Beyond the Glory or knows his story, you can't help but be happy as shit for this man:)
Paul showed why he's the Truth, like damn, he was suffering being the lone ranger and having to take the weight of carrying a team for years. Now he's a champion and Finals MVP.
Jesus Shuttlesworth, he was making it rain on them Lakers.
And the look on Kobe Bryant's face....Priceless. I hope he gets home and looks at the three he already has. It's hard being the lone ranger. The West Finals against the Spurs was their championship series.
All this talk of him winning without Shaq, didn't make sense to me. Shaq had help in Miami, that's why he won. Now Kobe needs some experienced help. Maybe the Lakers will remember this feeling and come back next year.
All I want now is for teams to stop trading away great players because they ask for some help! A.I was the lone ranger for years and dude is only 6 feet. He needed help dammit!!!

Soul Food: The Final Season on DVD

Soul Food, the critically acclaimed Showtime series that took four years to release Seasons 2 through 5, will have its final season available on DVD on July 8th.
For those that are confused, and thought there were 5 or 6 seasons because of those long breaks in between, the episodes from 2001-2002 are Season 2 and 2002-2003 are Season 3. What would have been Season 4 is available on Season 3. The final 14 episodes are on The Final Season.
On the July 8th, a Soul Food Box Set will also be available for purchase with all 74 episodes, with no special packaging or extras, just shrink wrapped.
Definitely worth the purchase, you can't fully appreciate it edited for BET.

Get Out Of The Dark Ages....Start a Home DVD Library

::My Dream Home Theater::
(Just a photo to support this blog!!!)
I just finished watching a news report on the high costs of going to the movies. It runs a family of 3 about $45. Popcorn has gone up .50 to a $1, and so has the price of admission.
The report suggested that more people start turning to renting or Movies On-Demand.

Both of the options are a bad idea and a waste of money when compared to investing in a Home DVD Library.

Just this past week, I went to Wal-Mart and purchased 9 movies for $45. Titles such as "Thelma & Louise", "Stand By Me", "8 Mile", and tons of other titles were available 2 for $10. (I'm rebuilding my library from VHS).

No its not "Sex and the City" or the new Indiana Jones, but come this Fall, these movies will be $19.95 or less, and they will be yours to watch when you want. You don't have to wait for HBO to show it over and over again. And you won't have a monthly bill with no say on what you want to see.

For those that turn to bootleg movies, you are also wasting your money. Be patient its worth it. What's three months for a good picture and a movie you will treasure.

The downside to building a collection is you can't waste money on B.S movies. So you won't purchase "The Cookout" for example, but you may pick up "Soul Plane" for $5, but not $10.

I have my own quirky process in buying DVDs, and my library nows consists of over 300 titles that I've purchased since converting to DVD's in 2005. Each is a great movie and the majority cost me around $10.
I don't understand why more people don't do the same, its way cheaper than going to the movies, cable/satellite, or renting.
If television is your primary source of entertainment, its definitely time to start creating a home library with quality films, especially if you have a home theater system.

Looking Forward to the NBA Finals!!!!

As the NBA Finals tip off in two days, I have to admit for the first time in four years, I'm excited.

Just to see Kobe and Kevin Garnett, the two high school players that should have went college for at least a year or two, compete for a NBA Championship is quite an event within itself.

This should should shut down the High School to NBA Debate. When you got it, you got it. Although there are the Kwamé Browns and Leon Smiths, but college basketball wouldn't have made a difference.

Looking back I realize that Kobe and Kevin were held to a different standard, they weren't allowed anytime to grow without criticism. Their mistakes, inability to lead a team were never attributed to the fact hey these guys were young. Now at 29 and 31 respectively, this is the time that most players lead their teams to championships. This is when it all comes together.
Most importantly, you need to right players around you, which both of them have now.
So who I do I think is going to win? I can't say because it will kill it for me. I want to see Kobe win a championship without Shaq, but I want to see Boston win a championship. So either scenario will work for me.
Shaq offered a few words about his former teammate that I wanted to share.
"He's been great all year. He was great in the playoffs and he's showing everyone what he's made of. He's on the verge of being the latest great one with four rings.
"He's come a long way. All I can say is, I'm happy for him. And I'm proud of him."

The Billionaire Universities

Yahoo! Finance had an interesting article about the colleges that produce the most billionaires. Of course, Harvard was ranked #1, with 50 billionaires receiving degrees a list that includes New York's Mayor Michael Bloomberg. Stanford was #2, with 30, Nike founder Phil Knight among them.

The University of Pennsylvania came in #3 and includes Donald Trump. NYU received the honor of having five dropouts become billionaires.

So what makes certain schools more likely to be a billionaire factory than others? Networking and the reputation of the school.

One thing for sure, all of the people on the list are entrepreneurs. So don't think working for others is going to make you a billionaire, you have to be willing to take risks, no matter what school is on your list of credentials.
