Soblu Inc.'s debut feature film, “Jazz in the Diamond District,” will open in select theaters in D.C., New York, Atlanta and Chicago for exclusive one-week engagements through Landmark Theatres. The film will open in Washington, D.C. on April 24th and will close in Chicago, IL on May 21st. In addition, there will be a premiere held in Los Angeles at the Arclight Cinema on May 5th.
”Jazz in the Diamond District” is a 79-minute urban drama that stars “The Wire’s,” Wood Harris and D.C.’s own, Clifton Powell, and chronicles the summer of Jasmine "Jazz" Morgan, a young singer who attempts to navigate the complexities of the music industry on her quest to become a star. The film is set against the backdrop of D.C.’s vibrant underground music culture and features an electrifying score that includes musical genres ranging from Hip-Hop to R&B to Go-go, a sub-genre of Funk that was originated and nurtured in Washington, D.C.
