UPenn Trauma Doctor Killed in Iraq on Christmas

Maybe over a year or so ago, I watched this television special about the number of shootings in Philadelphia and Dr. John Pryor was featured. I remember him very well because he compared Iraq to what was going on Philly based on the number of shooting victims he would get per night. It was crazy. The University of Pennsylvania is known for their trauma unit and more than likely if you get shot and go there, you have a great chance of survival. Dr. Pryor spoke on how this was a gift and a curse because he would often see the same people over and over again. I believe he was going for his second tour when this was shot and word came yesterday that he was killed. Dr. Pryor was serving as a combat surgeon in the Army. He joined after 9/11. He leaves behind a wife and three children. I didn't know this man personally, but after seeing his profile feature I truly admired and respected him. It must have been time for his wings.
